Emily shares her passion for her work, “In a world where corporate transparency and integrity are crucial, I embrace the challenge of guiding companies towards their strategic objectives within the ever-evolving regulations.”

What is your role at Automic?

I’m a Company Secretary working out of our Melbourne office.

In my role as an outsourced Company Secretary for a diverse range of entities (including Listed, Unlisted Public, NFP, Charity and private companies across various industries) I guide companies through the complexities of compliance, corporate governance, and stakeholder engagement. I serve as the connection between the board of directors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and adherence to the highest standards of corporate conduct.

In a world where corporate transparency and integrity are crucial, I embrace the challenge of guiding companies towards their strategic objectives within the ever-evolving regulations.

A Company Secretary’s role is at the intersection of law, business, and strategy, where I ensure that each decision aligns with both regulatory mandates and entities’ corporate goals.

What new skills/professional development have you acquired working at Automic?

Working as a Company Secretary in professional services offers several benefits including exposure to diverse clients and industries, networking opportunities, continuous learning in a dynamic environment, access to specialised expertise and flexibility in work arrangements.

Automic provides me the necessary support to be able to expand my skill set, grow professionally, and make significant contributions to clients’ governance and compliance needs.

What can’t you get through the work day without?

I kick start my day with a refreshing morning run/long walk, then swing by for a well deserved coffee, that’s something I can’t do without. And when I get a chance between tasks during remote work, I give my veggie garden (that my husband and I started to build two years ago) some love. It’s like a mini outdoor adventure right at home, keeping me pumped and chill at the same time! Oh, and also my team’s top secret, ultra exclusive ‘Silly Squad’ chat on Teams!  It’s where we unleash our inner comedians, swapping jokes, memes, and puns that make our day. We’re not just colleagues, we’re a crack team of comedy connoisseurs!

What do you like most about working at Automic Group?

What I like most about working at Automic is undoubtedly the vibrant culture and the incredible people I have the pleasure of collaborating with every day. But beyond that, what truly sets my experience apart is the invaluable relationships I’ve formed with our clients. Building these connections has been very rewarding. Our collaboration isn’t just about business, it’s about building trust, understanding, and friendships. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know our clients on a personal level, and the bonds we’ve made are special.

What are you looking forward to at Automic Group?

I’m excited about continuing to contribute to the Automic’s success and growth. I am also looking forward to the company’s continued progress and advancement in systems and technology. It’ll make our daily tasks easier and more efficient.
